　　你知道这些濒危物种分布在哪里吗？

　　苏州北美国际高中的学生们在艺术老师Koen老师的指导下，围绕中国境内的特有物种，完成了一个特别有趣的项目——动物地图。

　　Koen老师的初衷是为了鼓励学生树立环保意识，让学生调研动物和他们的栖息地。调研后，学生决定绘制出这些有趣的动物。

　　在绘制过程中，Koen老师指导学生如何用水彩传统的干湿结合画法绘制线条和细节描绘。

　　最后，学生每人绘制一至三张地方性的、濒临灭绝的、或者正在消失的中国动物，并且调研它们的保护现状，名字，栖息地，找出它们濒临灭绝的原因，剩余的数量。这些数据都在这份动物地图上一 一标注。

动物地图一经问世，便吸引了无数目光。不仅有趣，而且有料，在绘制的过程中，学生的专业功底也得到了极强的提升。

　　在策展人Nat 老师，Nancy老师的精心策划下，学生们的数十件作品在SNA 4楼艺术展区展出。

　　通过这些艺术作品，我们看到北美学子在艺术道路上的孜孜不倦以及成竹在胸的底气。

　　As one of the world’s most bio- diverse countries, but also most populous, China is home to a significant number of 　　wildlife species vulnerable to or in danger of local extinction due to the impact of human activity and habitat loss.

　　Nancy： What’s your original intention for the project?

　　Koen:  The intention for this project is to inspire environmental awareness among students and to learn about the 　　　　animals and their habitat, along with creating a large and interesting artwork participated by as many students as 　　　　possible.

　　Nancy：What did students learn from this project?

　　Koen:  Students learned how to combine the traditional use of watercolor, by saturating the brush with water, with 　　　　a "dry" watercolor technique for fine lines and details.

　　For this project each student had to paint 1, 2 or 3 endemic, endangered, common or recently extinct Chinese animals 　　and research their conservation status, name, habitat, as well as find out why these animals are endangered, how many 　　individuals are left, etc. ….
